Miguel Santos holds a PhD in Psychology & is currently Adjunct Professor at the School of Education of IPP. He is coordinator of the Department of Special Education (since 2007), and of the Bachelor Programme in Portuguese Sign Language Translation and Interpretation (since 2010). Over the last years he participated and coordinated several European Projects concerning Inclusive Education. Most of these projects where or are aimed at developing training programmes for parents and teachers of children with specific diagnosis – adhd and cerebral palsy. He is now working on the translation for Portuguese language of the Supports Intensity Scale TM (AAIDD). He is member of the scientific committee of the Center for Research and Innovation in Education (inED), and member of the National Scientific Council of Teacher Training responsible for the registration of specialized teacher training programmes in Portugal. He is chief editor of the scientific journal Sensos.
